Michael Skok For President
WHO IS MICHAEL SKOK?
I was one of the 30 presidential candidates in the 2000 New Hampshire primary elections running as a Democrat. My main
platform was a ban on partial birth abortions, the institution of a program that would free us from dependence on OPEC oil,
a commitment to land and colonize Mars, and to encourage the manufacture and sale of American-made products rather than foreign-made
products. I ran for president in the New Hampshire primary 2008 elections mainly to warn my fellow Americans of the erosion
of our Christian heritage and Christian values, and how it is seriously affecting our ability to survive in the Twenty-First
Century.
FAMILY AND EDUCATION
I was born on April 13, 1949 in Buffalo, New York. I am the second of three sons of Joseph, who was of Polish and Lithuanian
descent, and Elizabeth, who is of Hungarian descent. My brothers and I attended Holy Name of Jesus school in Buffalo.
Afterwards, I attended Genesee-Humboldt Junior High School in my freshman year, then I transferred to Kensington High School
and graduated in 1968. I tried out different colleges and institutions afterwards. Some of the trades I took up were color
TV repair, accounting, typing, keypunching, word processing, and tractor trailer truck driving. I recently graduated from
Erie Community College with an A.S. degree in Liberal Arts. I plan to continue my education in a four-year college or university
to become a teacher.
RELIGION
I considered myself a good Christian and a good Catholic in my earlier days. When I was attending Catholic grammar school,
I went to Mass almost every day. I even thought about becoming a priest as a way of pleasing God. But I never did anything
too seriously to go in that direction. But I was proud to be a Catholic. I considered the Catholic Church to be the one true
church founded by Jesus Christ.
Besides believing that the Catholic Church was the One True Church, I also believed that the Bible, the whole Bible, from
Genesis to Revelation, was the Word of God. We were taught that most of the Bible is sealed; that we could not understand
the prophecies until some time in the distant future just before the return of Jesus Christ. I remember wishing and praying
that I could know the mysteries of the Bible.
Such a time occurred in a way I never thought possible—through another church. It happened back in 1969 when the
so-called peace negotiations were being conducted in Paris to end the Vietnam War. I was groping for answers—for the
truth. I looked in the TV section one Sunday and saw the Vietnam War being the topic of discussion on a program called the
World Tomorrow. It was the last 15 minutes of Part II, and it really interested me. Garner Ted Armstrong laid out three rules
which he said came from Mr. Eisenhower. They were: 1) Never commit your troops to a land war in Asia. 2) If you do commit
your troops, bring them in altogether; don’t send them in piece meal. 3) The object of any war should be nothing less
than victory. At the end of the program, he offered a booklet titled, "The United States and the British Commonwealth in Prophecy."
Through the reading of this book, along with the Plain Truth Magazine, and other literature they sent me, I came to believe
that:
- The United States and Great Britain are the descendants of the lost Israelites who were taken captive by the Assyrian
Empire. We are great, rich, and powerful because of the promises God give to Abraham, Issac, Jacob and Joseph.
- We, the English-speaking nations of the world, are destined to be punished for our sins, and taken into captivity once
more by a future empire that is now arising out of the European Union.
- The British Throne is the continuation of the Throne of David. It was transferred from Jerusalam to Ireland, then to Scotland,
and finally to London, England. That throne will continue until the Second Coming when Jesus Christ ascends to the throne
as its rightful heir.
- The group that sent me all this literature, the Worldwide Church of God, is the one true religion founded by Jesus Christ
at the time of the apostles.
- The gospel is the good news that Christ paid for our sins, which is death, and that the reward for having faith and doing
good works is to be born into God’s Family, to have powers just like Jesus Christ, and to rule over the nations on earth
as kings at the Second Coming.
- The Holy Spirit is not a person. There are only two persons in the God Family—the Father and the Son. At the Second
Coming, there will be thousands in God’s Family. And when salvation is completed, all or almost all of mankind will
be in the God Family.
- We must keep the Ten Commandments, which include the Sabbath Day (Friday evening until Saturday evening) and the seven
annual Sabbath days in the spring and fall.
- We owe God ten percent of our income, which are called tithes, which is given to the church to do God’s Work. We
are required to tithe another ten percent of our income to set aside for ourselves when we observe the Sabbath Holy days in
the spring and fall. We are required to tithe a third 10-percent of our income every three years to give to the poor. And
we must give offerings and make sacrifices (give more money) to the church.
- All the Christian holidays we celebrate--Christmas, Easter, New Years Day, Valentines Day, Halloween, and birthdays--are
pagan days, and are not to be observed.
- This is Satan’s World. Therefore, we are not to vote nor hold office. Military service is to be avoided. And killing,
unless it’s in self-defense, is wrong.
I was in that religion for about eight years. They were not very happy years. I gave up my job to keep the Sabbaths. I
had a hard time finding other jobs. After eight years, I quit tithing when I saw God was not blessing me as He promised in
Malachi 3:8. I quit that church altogether when I read a news article that the head of the church, Herbert W. Armstrong (1892-1986)
received a salary of a half million dollars a year.
I sent for literature from former ministers of the church. From them and other church groups, I learned:
- We are not lost Israel. We are not great, powerful and rich because of God’s promises to Israel. Israel received
all of its blessings when they, under the leadership of Joshua, conquered the Holy Land, as it says in Joshua 23:14, "Not
one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All are come to pass to you, and
not one thing has failed thereof." The promises of strength and power that we have were given to Japeth, one of the sons of
Noah (Genesis 9:27). We are prosperous because we are good to the Jews, as it says in Genesis 27:29, "Cursed be every one
that curses you, and blessed be he that blessed you."
- Other than being descendants of Japeth, there’s nothing in the Bible that identifies who we are. It is my belief
that, as Israel’s most trusted friend, something terrible in the future will happen to us. There are prophecies in the
Book of Daniel that indicate the nations will guarantee Israel peace, so that the Israelis will say, "Peace and safety," as
it says in I Thessolonians 5:3. The only reason Israel will say, "Peace and safety," is because the United States, the only
nation on earth that Israel trusts, will be one of the nations that guarantees Israel peace. The same verse, I Thessolonians
5:3, ends by saying, "and then comes sudden destruction." It is likely that some disaster will strike the United States so
that we are no longer around to guarantee Israel, "peace and safety."
- The British Throne may not be the Throne of David. Some believe it is, some don’t.
- There isn’t any one true church on earth. Some say all Christians who believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died
for our sins are members of the true church.
- I still believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for our sins, and that our reward is to become powerful as
Jesus Christ is, and to rule the nations after the Second Coming.
- I still believe that the Holy Spirit is not a person. Paul did not mention the Holy Spirit when he saluted the churches
in his epistles. Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit is a person, then the Holy Spirit is the
father of Jesus Christ. Jesus said He has two witnesses—the Father and Himself. If the Holy Spirit were a person, Jesus
would have simply said, "the Father and the Holy Spirit."
- Most of the Ten Commandments are to be kept as Jesus told one man in Mark 10:19 the commandments to be kept. In Acts 15:20,
the apostles decreed that Gentiles need only abstain from idols, fornication, strangled animals, and blood. There is no need
for Christians to keep the Sabbath.
- Tithing was required only in the Old Testament times when the Temple and the Levitical priesthood were established. We
still call giving to the church "tithing," but it doesn’t have to be ten percent of your income. It could be more or
less, depending on how charitable you feel.
- Christian holidays are pagan in origin, but not as bad as the Worldwide Church of God says they are. I respect these days
as family events and national holidays. It is actually dismaying how unchristian or irreligious these holidays have become,
especially Thanksgiving Day, a non-pagan, all-American holiday that we have set aside to thank God for all the blessings He
has bestowed on our country.
- This is Satan’s world, but it can be debated that the United States is a Christian country. It started out as a
Christian country, but has slowly become more and more unchristian, secular and ungodly. We are still the most generous nation
on earth. We spend more money on poverty and foreign aid then any nation on earth. But we have the highest divorce rate in
the world; and gambling and pornography are the biggest industries on the Internet. Concerning voting, holding office, and
serivice in the military, I always thought of these as an honor, a duty, and a privilege.
After I left the Worldwide Church of God, I gave up Bible reading for a while. But then I realized I was a better Christian
before when I read the Bible for at least 20 minutes a day. So I continued reading the Bible every day.
WORK
After trying out some courses after high school, I landed several jobs over the years for general labor, clerical, security
guard, keypunching and data entry. Recently, I was able to obtain social security benefits because of congenital deformity
in my right shoulder which was getting worse as I was getting older, which also cause me to overwork and injure my left shoulder.
POLITICAL AFFILIATION
My mother and father were both Democrats when I was a child. My father was in the union. The Democratic Party was for the
working people at the time. We were working people. So we supported the Democratic Party. My two brothers and their families
are Democrats. When I turned 21 and became eligible to vote in 1970, I found that the Democratic Party was anti-war and anti-American.
So I registered as a member of the Conservative Party. They are more in tune with my beliefs, but they have no primary elections.
They simply endorse Republican candidates. So after a few years, I changed my party affiliation to the Democratic Party. I
still vote mostly for Conservatives and Republicans when I go into the voting booth. When I was a member of the Worldwide
Church of God, we were instructed that this world is Satan’s world, and that we shouldn’t vote, much less run
for office. A number of churches hold to that principle. Many good Christian people will not go to the voting booth because
this is Satan’s world. In Matthew 4: 8-10, it says that Satan tempted Jesus by taking Him to a high mountain and showing
Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. He said to Jesus, "All these things I will give you if you will fall down
and worship me." Satan could not give these things if he didn’t have them in the first place. So we were kept from running
for office and going to the voting booth by this teaching. But are we just another nation ruled by Satan, or are we a nation
"under God?" I believe we are a nation under God, a Christian nation. However, we are a dying Christian nation.
PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRATIONS
When I was a young boy, I had no desire whatsoever to go to Washington as a political statesman. I wouldn’t know
what to do there. In 1955, I was car accident which sent me to the hospital for 50 weeks. At first, the doctors didn’t
think I was going to live. Later, they didn’t think I was ever going to walk again. This closeness to death has made
me wonder why am I here. Is there a reason why God let me live? Maybe not.
One of my biggest interests and favorite subjects when I was at Holy Name and Kensington High School was history. I also
enjoyed watching history on TV, especially films of World War II. There’s was one weekly TV program called The Great
Adventure that was on in the early 1960’s which was about American history enactments which I watched every week. It
was during the Vietnam War when our policy was to treat it as an limited war while the rest of our foreign policy was business
as usual. This is when I started second guessing the president and thinking what I would do if I were president. There is
no such thing as a limited war when a soldier is called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice. What we should have done was
surround North Vietnam with American forces, cut the country in half, use surge to occupy and hold the territory we capture,
and eventually take over the country.
POLITICS
I entered the New Hampshire presidential primary elections of 2000 on the very last day. I made out a flyer with my platform
issues on it and handed them out. The following is a reprint of it.
VOTE FOR MICHAEL SKOK
Hi! I’m Michael Skok, age 50, from Buffalo and a resident of nearby Cheektowaga, NY. I am running for President of
the United State as a member of the Democratic Party.
I have decided to run for president for several reasons:
- To Ban Partial Birth Abortions – This is a horrible abortion procedure in which a late-term unborn baby is pushed
out of its mother’s womb feet first. Its head is left inside the mother’s womb. Then the abortionist punctures
a hole in the base of its skull and suctions out its brains. This is legal in the United States. It should be stopped. I am
also opposed to all other forms of abortion because science tells us that life begins at conception and that brain waves and
fingerprints are present in an unborn baby only two weeks after conception. The Declaration of Independence states that our
Creator endowed us with certain unalienable rights, which includes LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
- Manned Mission to Mars – In his book, The Case for Mars, Robert Zubrin tells us that we have the technology to land
men on Mars for a reasonable cost of $40 billion. Once the green light is given, we can send men to Mars in about ten years,
which will be the first step in colonizing Mars. This is an exciting adventure which I’m sure will capture the hearts
and imagination of millions as we build a new world, God be willing.
- The Repeal of the Sixteen Amendment, the Income Tax Law – Our tax structure is in chaos. A book as thick as 4 feet
is necessary to contain all the rules that we have. One tax expert enthusiastically endorses a federal sales tax to replace
our present income tax system. No more filling out federal income tax forms every April!
- Nationalization of Our Railways – Our highways are owned by the public and most of them are free to travel on without
cost. So should our train tracks be. This is how it is in England. Competition is encouraged which keeps the cost of freight
low. I am also in favor of improving our passenger rail system to the same level as it exists in Japan, Germany, and France.
- Alternate Sources of Energy – We are still an oil-burning nation that imports most of our petroleum from other countries.
Much of the oil is used in running our automobiles. It has been said that petroleum is too valuable to burn. It is used in
making plastics, nylons, and many other things. We should try to use alcohol to run our automobiles; then we would be dependent
our American farmers to keep our cars going rather than oil from Middle East nations.
- I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m tired of going to the store and seeing everything made in China. If
it’s not made in China, then it’s made in Japan, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, or some other Asian country.
It doesn’t make sense for the federal government to have minimum wage laws that require your employer to pay you at
least $5.15 an hour, yet it allows your employer to go overseas to have workers make this product for almost nothing and then
ship his product to the United States duty-free. Also, it’s a shame that China steals our nuclear secrets to improve
their nuclear arsenal. (Who are they fighting?). Yet Congress recently voted to keep them as one of "Most Favored Nation"
trading partners, even though we call it "Normal Trade Relations."
If you feel as strongly on these issues as I do, please register to vote and vote for me on Feb 1st, 2000.
I made about a hundred or more copies of it and passed them out to a few people, placed them on porch railings and placed
most of them at the Historic Library in Concord NH where I read from the flyer before a national TV audience. I got this idea
from someone who was running for a seat on the local Board of Education. I read his flyer and it got me out of the house to
Cheektowaga Central High School and into the voting booth. It worked for him; it should work for me. The people who received
my flyers would say, "What great ideas!" And then they would pass it on to their family and friends, who would pass it on
to their family and friends, and to their family and friends, and then who would all vote for me. So that was my strategy
to win the New Hampshire primary. And after the New Hampshire primary, who knows?
That flyer was what I thought was, if not important, then interesting, back in the year 2000. Some of issues are still
relevant today—in fact, even more so than they were in 2000.
Partial birth abortion--The partial birth abortion ban separates the humans from the monsters. How can any nation call
itself civilized that allows such a procedure which involves the destruction of a baby’s brain just as it is being born.
Unfortunately, there is one nation and only one nation which allowed this procedure. It is the United States of America. Thankfully,
it has been outlawed recently. Incredibly, a certain senator from New York who’s running for president has introduced
a bill that will restore this gruesome, savage, barbaric act.
Manned Mission to Mars--The manned mission to Mars seems like an extravagant and frivolous adventure that’s a waste
of time, money and resources. It’s hard for someone like me who watches every penny I spend to justify spending $40
billion, especially today with our massive budget deficits. One web site stated that I claim going to Mars will help the economy.
I made no such promise. The economy was good back in 2000 with a surplus national budget. I simply thought we could afford
to go to Mars. Now, with our enormous deficit spending, I feel more reluctant to push such a program. In light of what we
are spending on the Iraq war, this money now seems like a drop in the bucket. Not only that, with the manned Mars mission,
at least we could see what our money is doing. With the Iraq war, we are simply pouring money into a bottomless pit. Nevertheless,
we need to correct our budget.
Why is a manned mission to Mars important? I was asked that question in a phone interview. It isn’t that important.
It is an option: If you want the United States to land men on Mars, to colonize Mars, to plant our culture and civilization
on another planet, then vote for me. If not, then vote for someone else. Now, I would say, in this age of terrorism and weapons
of mass destruction, perhaps a manned Mars mission becomes even more important than ever. It may be that the only safe place
to raise a family is on Mars. Another important reason for a U.S. manned mission to Mars is the Communist Red Chinese space
program. They have succeeded in putting a man in orbit last year. Their plans are to land a man on the moon by the year 2010.
With their huge modern army, navy, air force, their trade surpluses, their massive holdings of American dollars, will anyone
doubt their undisputed supremacy with Chinese men on the moon and on Mars? We need to keep a step ahead of the Red Chinese
in space. In fact, we need to keep four or five steps of the Red Chinese in this department.
I am happy that the United States does have plans to go back to the moon and to Mars via the Orion space rocket.
The Sixteenth Amendment--The repeal of the 16 Amendment a good idea, but it is more or less wishful thinking. It is nearly
the hardest thing in the world to add or subtract an amendment to/from the constitution. The IRS is a big bloated bureaucracy
that some presidents, like Bill Clinton, used effectively to destroy their enemies. Nevertheless, I still think would be a
good idea to repeal the Sixteenth Amendment.
Railway nationalization--The nationalization of our railways is another bit of wishful thinking. It’s not a big issue.
It’s not even a little issue. It’s something that got my attention when I was reading a U.S. News and World Report
magazine. One phone interviewer asked me how we would pay for all that track. One way is to pay little by little; buying only
a section at a time until it is all publicly owned. We could experiment with the first section of track to see how it works
out. If we like the idea, then could pursue it further. I am still in favor of improving and expanding our passenger rail
system to solve. Our airports cannot handle the increasingly heavy traffic at the airports and on our highways. If New York
City hadn’t invested in its subway system, traveling through that city would be impossible.
Alternative sources of energy--Alternative sources of energy is still a big and important issue. In fact, it is an even
bigger and more important issue now than it was back in 2000. The money we spend on OPEC oil goes mostly to Saudi Arabia and
other Arab nations who use that money to support terrorists, built mosques in the US, and spread Islam to our prison population.
We are dependent on OPEC oil to the point that it and it alone affects our economy. When the price of OPEC oil goes up, the
price of gasoline goes up, and our economy goes down. When the price of OPEC oil goes down, the price of gasoline goes down,
and our economy goes up. As a result, they have enormous leverage over our foreign policy, especially concerning Israel. Therefore,
it is imperative that we free ourselves from this OPEC influence, and have an independent energy policy. We like to shoot
off fireworks on July 4th to celebrate our independence, yet we are very dependent on OPEC oil We need to free
ourselves from OPEC oil ASAP. Furthermore, cheap oil is coming to an end. The Chinese are buying an enormous amount of OPEC
oil for their new factories. The Saudis themselves say the demand for their oil is exceeding the supply. So we must free ourselves
from OPEC oil.
There are several ways I think we can do this. One way is by using ethanol fuel in our cars the same way they are doing
in Brazil. Our trucks and buses, which use diesel engines, could run on peanut oil. We should expand our solar and wind energy
systems. For solar energy, we don’t need to set aside a lot of land. We could place solar panels along the sides of
our highways. We could place solar collectors in orbit around the earth in space that will beam energy down to transmitters.
As for wind energy, there’s a lot of wind all over the United States during the winter time. Another source of energy,
from what I read, is the vast shale oil desposits we have in Colorado which are many times greater than the oil reserves in
Saudi Arabia. Dependency on foreign oil should end, not ten years from now, not five years from now, but no more than one
year from now. It should have already been done long ago.
Free Trade--Free trade is a complicated matter. Is free trade good or bad? Abraham Lincoln had the country buy more expensive
items made in America than to buy the same items cheaper from Great Britain to help keep jobs in America. After World War
II, it was decided that by making every nation’s economies interdependent on each other, there would bring about a greater
need for harmony and less chance for war. At first we were careful not to include the communist nations because we would be
dependent on them for certain raw materials, so they would have control over our foreign policy. Now, things have gotten way
out of hand. We have come to the point where we are dependent on cheap foreign goods. Free trade should exists only under
the following rules: 1) the nations we have free trade with should have economies, minimum wage laws, and environmental protection
laws equal to our own. 2) We should have no free trade with nations who hate us or threaten our survival. 3) We should not
import far more from a country than we export. Imports and exports should be about equal.
Both Democrats and Republicans seem to favor free trade, but for their own reasons. For Democrats, it’s the liberal
thing to do—to be friendly with our enemies. For Republicans, it’s good for businessmen--they make huge profits
by saving on labor costs and environmental concerns.
WHY DID I RUN?
I ran in the 2000 New Hampshire primary because I thought it was my last chance to do anything like that. I still was in
good health, and I still considered myself not too bad looking. The 2000 Presidential elections was boring and without very
many ideas or proposals being made. About the only thing Al Gore was talking about was social security, social security, social
security, Medicare, social security, social security and social security.
I also felt there was hope. The economy was good, but we were still dependent on OPEC oil, and we were importing too many
goods from China. The country had no serious goals other than to keep things humming along as they had been doing. I was hoping
this country could avoid the moral slide down to our destruction as it is recorded in the Bible.
Back in 2000, I really believed that God would perform a miracle for me and help me get in the White House. I was also
counting on some Christian groups for support. Instead, not only did I get no support from them; they even said it was a bad
idea. One of them said that the world hates Jesus Christ, and so they will hate me, a follower of Jesus Christ. This time,
in 2008, I have no illusions. In fact, if I were elected to the presidency, it may go against scriptures, just as rescuing
Jesus before his arrest, trial and crucifixion would have gone against scriptures. Jesus even called Peter "Satan" when he
tried to dissuade Jesus from going up to Jerusalem to accomplish His suffering and death.
WHY DO I RUN NOW?
I believe the next four years are going to be the most critical years in the history of our county. If things continue
to go they way they are going now, the next president of the United States will most like be the last president of the United
States. The reason why I think the next president will be the last president is because we are on a path of self-destruction
due to corruption. I hope to awaken my countrymen, my fellow Christians to the soon-coming disasters before it’s really
is too late.
CORRUPTION
In the Bible, Jesus said you cannot have two masters. You will either hate the one and love the other, or you will love
the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and mammon. When I went to Holy Name grammar school, we were taught
that Latin America was founded by men who were looking for gold, while the United States was founded by men who were looking
for God. In one of classes at ECC, the teacher said that nothing is more important that money. No one in the class argued
with her. But there are some thing more important than money. Life is more important than money. If someone puts a gun to
your head and demands, "Your money or your life," you would give him your money rather than let him shoot you. And Jesus said
the same thing, "If you should gain the whole world, yet lose your self or soul, what does it profit you?"
THE CAPITALIST SYSTEM. The Bible endorses the capitalist system when Jesus gives a parable about three men who were given
a certain amount of money to trade with. The first man gained five times as much as he had. The second gained twice as much
as he had. The Lord rewards the first with five cities and the second with two cities. The third one hid his master’s
money and gave it back to him. He was punished for it. The trouble with our modern capitalist system is that it is being changed
into a godless system of buying and selling with no Christian values. We equate large amounts of money with success. God doesn’t
care if we have lots of gold, money, or jewelry. God wants us to gain the fruits of the Holy Spirit, which are love, kindness,
gentleness, meekness, and self-control.
The American dream seems to have come to an end and we have gone back to the Nineteenth Century. It use to be that if a
person worked hard at his job, he/she could climb the ladder and get a better job to be able to afford a house, a car, and
new clothes for his/her family. Nowadays, it’s hard to find good jobs, and nobody’s job is secure. Many jobs are
being eliminated, and the work is being sent over to China and Mexico where the labor is cheaper. Statistics show that wages
for the average American have stayed the same over the last ten years.
THE NEWS MEDIA. Thomas Jefferson once said that if he had to make a choice between a country with a government and without
newspapers or a country with newspapers and no government, he would not hesitate to choose the latter. If he were alive today
and could see what kind of newspapers we have, I think he would hesitate about choosing the latter. Most of them are anti-Christian,
anti-family, pro-gay, pro-abortion, pro-evolution, anti-military, anti-American, pro-Muslim, and anti-Israel.
OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM—When I was in Holy Name grammar school, my teacher told us that the university system is a failure.
She didn’t say why, but now I know. It is a vast system of lecture halls with emphasis on getting a good job or career
and for establishing humanism or secular progression, which is anti-Christian, anit-family, pro-gay, pro-abortion, pro-evolution,
anti-military, anti-American, pro-Muslim, and anti-Israel. It is no wonder that the highest suicide rate is found in our nation’s
colleges and universities. We need to teach our students about religion, especially the Bible and Christianity—upon
which are laws were founded.
CONGRESS—When I was in the Worldwide Church of God, one of the preachers quoted to us part of a book on the corruption
in Congress. This was in back in the 1970’s and 1980’s, but the story is still the same. The author wrote about
how House Speaker McCormick pointed to a space above the doorway. The author didn’t understand. The House Speaker again
pointed to a space above the doorway and said, "Nothing for nothing." We expect the representatives we sent to Congress to
serve in our best interests and that of the country. Yet, close to 95% of a congressman’s time is spent for re-election.
Many of them accept junkets. One congressman bargains with another, "If you vote for my program, I’ll vote for yours."
Our congressmen are expected to bring home the bacon with lots of pork barrel money.
IS THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO?
When you read the Book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible, it seems like there’s
only death no matter what you do. If you’re good, you will suffer and die as a martyr, and then receive your eternal
reward. If you’re bad, you will be punished and be eternally damned. As for dying, it is a great honor to die for the
Lord. In John 21:19, Jesus told Peter by what death he was to glorify God. In Revelation 14: 13, it says, "Blessed are the
dead who die in the Lord henceforth." Does that mean yours truly is ready and willing to die in the Lord. No way. I don’t
want to die. And I think I have a lot of company. Jesus Christ didn’t want to die. He prayed three times in the Garden
of Gesemene to His Father that He would take this cup (of suffering and death on the cross) from Him. In Luke 21:36, Jesus
says, "Watch therefore and pray always that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these thing that shall come to pass
and to stand before the Son of man. And that’s what I do. I pray every day to God that I will be accounted worthy to
escape all the trials and tribulations that are going to come on the earth.
THE PLAN
We are at war. We should act like we are a country at war, not like a country at peace.
- We need to declare war against Isalmic fascism. We need to educate and train ourselves to fight in counter terrorism and
war from grade school to college.
- We need to resolve some fundamental issues that is dividing us and tearing us apart. The major issue is evolution versus
creationism. We need to gather the best minds in evolution and creationism and determine which one is the truth.
- We need to have fair trade laws to avoid being dependant on China for our products. We need to have an all out program
to make ourselves energy independent.
- We need to keep our eye on Bible prophecy because these are the times near the end and the Second Coming of Our Lord Jesus
Christ.
