Democrat

I ran for president of the United States twice in New Hampshire, once in the 2000 elections and once again in the 2008 elections.

Three reasons for running for president in 2000 was, firstly, because of dissatisfaction with the other candidates. Secondly, I wanted to tell about the evils of partial birth abortion. And lastly, I believed we should set our goals on colonizing Mars. I was hopeful about winning because of my honesty and my devotion to God.

The reason for running for president in 2008 was because of serious problems with present and potential enemies of the US, namely Red China and Islam.  I more or less exaggerated the seriousness of these dangers by saying that, in my opinion, the next president of the US will be our last president. My expectations that year were much more realistic than they were in 2000, and so my candidacy was only a little more than a message than an effort.

I thought about becoming a candidate a third time in 2015. My reason for running is because our problems are indeed overwhelming and extremely dangerous. It is not just my opinion but also those of many experts that the dollar will soon crash. Barak Obama (B.O. for short and something else) has promised us hope and change. We've gotten change but instead of hope, many, if not most Americans are in a state of hopelessness. Again, my candidacy was more of a message than an effort. Still, I wanted to see how much I can do and how much God will allow me to do.

Political Affiliation

Will Rogers once said, "I am not a member of any organized political party. I'm a Democrat." In the early Twentieth Century, the Democratic Party stood mainly for labor and the common man, while the Republican Party stood for business and the wealthy man. In the later Twentieth Century, the Democratic Party embraced gay rights, the anti-war sentiment, and abortion. Today, the Democratic Party still embraces these same points of view which I consider ultra liberal, leftist and against my Christian principles. My reason for being a Democrat is because of family tradition. My father and mother were Democrats, and they were members of AFL-CIO. I consider myself a DINO, a Democrat In Name Only except in the area of free trade. I do not believe in free trade with countries with cheap labor and no environmental laws like Communist Red China.

Personal

I was born on April 13, 1949 in Buffalo, NY. I am currently living in Lancaster, NY. If you type in Michael Skok on your search engine on the Internet, you will come up with Michael Skok, entrepreneur. I am not him and he is not me. We are not related. We have never been introduced.

European Nationality Descent

Skok is a Polish name. I assume Michael Skok, Entrepreneur, is Polish. I am one quarter Polish and one quarter Lithuanian on my father’s side. I am Hungarian on my mother’s side. Michael Skok, Entrepreneur, has a J for a middle initial. I have a P for Paul. Michael Skok, Entrepreneur, is successful, maybe even rich, and therefore much more qualified to run for president than I am. I am Michael Skok, flop.

Education

I am not exactly a flop. I graduated from Kensington H.S. I was an average student. My favorite and best subject was History. After high school, I went to this school and that school for electronics, TV repair, accounting, typing, and keypunching. I graduated from Erie Community College SUNY in the Liberal Arts curriculum.

Past Employment

I had over 50, maybe even a hundred different jobs, mostly temp jobs that lasted from one day to two and a half years. Some of my jobs were general labor, security guard, and data entry clerk. I tried out for tractor trailer truck driving. I had a Class A Commercial Driver’s license which expired 4/2018.

Retired

In 2017, I became 66 years old and retired from the job market. As a retiree, I have quite a bit of time on my hands, but not much money. I was making this campaign more of a message than an effort. I've read and studied the Bible for over 45 years. I like history, especially American history.

Purpose In life

I don’t read too much history books now, but I like reading current events. I feel I have something to give to my fellow Americans. There is a lot of wisdom from the Bible that we need to pay attention to. There are also prophecies in the Bible that are yet to be fulfilled that are leading to the Second Coming of Our Lord Jesus. And so that is my motivation: I am a common American citizen who is alarmed by current trends and who wants to warn his countrymen of future dangers that we face and even give solutions for those problems. I probably won’t become the next President of the United States, but I would like to be one of America’s pastors like the late Billy Graham was.

Not On The Ballot

November 20, 2015 Friday. Today was the last day to enter the primary race in New Hampshire. I tried to put my name on the ballot through the Internet or by telephone like I did the last time in 2008. But I was too late. The Office of the Secretary of State in New Hampshire informed me that they would mail me out the forms. That was last Wednesday, November 18th. It would have been too late for me to get on the ballot by the time the forms came to me, to fill them out, and to mail them back. I would have had to drive to New Hampshire. The road trip would have been too long for me. I recently played in a chess tournament in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. The 6 ½ hour trip exhausted me. I am also low on financial resources. The $1000 entrance fee would be quite a strain on my budget. I would have to go into debt from which it would be extremely difficult for me to get out of. So, unhappily, the wisest thing to do is not bother running again in New Hampshire. I have considered running as a write-in candidate. Perhaps that would also be a waste of time and effort. However, I would appreciate if the voters not only in New Hampshire but all over America would consider voting for me as a write-in candidate on their primary day.

Disqualified

I was born in the United States. My birth place was in Buffalo NY. I have resided in the Buffalo area for most of my life. I was in Canton, NY near the St. Lawrence River for 1 semester in college. I lived in Richmond, VA for about three months at the most. I am over the age of 35. I have not been convicted of any felony. I thought that was a requirement; but I don’t read that anywhere in the Constitution. So I am qualified to run and serve as President of the United States according to our Constitution.

The Constitution is one thing, but reality is another thing. The requirements of each of the 50 states for those who wish to be placed on the ballot make running for president a wild dream that only the rich or well-connected can afford.

There is also the appearance and background of the candidate that Americans take into consideration. Americans want their president to be a graduate of a prestigious educational institution. They want their president to be not only successful, but strong, youthful, and good looking. In this day and age of political correctness, the country is looking perhaps for its first woman to serve as president, which puts me at a definite disadvantage. The American people have seldom voted for war. Before our entrance into World War I, Woodrow Wilson campaigned on the slogan, “He kept us out of war.” Before our involvement in Vietnam, Lyndon Johnson said that American boys should not be fighting Asian boys in an Asian war. In contrast, Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldberg indicated he wanted greater American involvement in Vietnam. LBJ won that election by a landslide. Today, Americans are sick of war more than ever before. We’ve been in Afghanistan since 2001. Our troops have overthrown Saddam Hussein and occupied Iraq for 11 years and we lost over 4,000 men. For all those lives and wasted treasure, we’ve gained nothing. The American-trained Iraqi Army turned and ran from the forces of ISIS. They (ISIS) now (prior to the election of Mr. Trump) control one of the richest oil fields in the world. We have nothing to show for our efforts.

When I was in the Worldwide Church of God, the Armstrongs would tell us that this is Satan’s world. They pointed to Matthew 4:8-9 where Satan is tempting Jesus after Jesus had fasted 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness. It says, “Again, the devil takes him up into an exceedingly high mountain and shows him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them. And he says to him, “All these things will I give you if you will fall down and worship me.” Jesus did not dispute him or correct him. The devil is the ruler of the earth. He does not rule in hell as most churches teach. He rules on earth and all the kingdoms of the earth belong to him and his demons. Armstrong said that God gave Satan rulership over the earth when he was Lucifer, a shining bright angel. When Lucifer rebelled against God, God repulsed him and threw him back down to the earth. From that time, Lucifer was known as Satan, and he still rules over the earth. God did not remove him from rulership over the earth. That will not happen until the Second Coming of Our Lord. Until then, this is Satan’s world. Armstrong said we are not to seek office nor even vote in the elections. Even if we would make a good, honest office holder, and even if we do our duty as good American citizens who would try to always vote for the best man (or woman), we are serving Satan. We do not try to make Satan’s world better. It is rather futile to do so as they pointed out in a conversation the one-time Speaker of the House John McCormick had with a visiting journalist. He pointed to an invisible sign above the doorway and said, “Nothing for nothing.” Our politicians do not serve the people as they should. Their votes go to the lobbyist who pays them the most money and who give them the most perks. Some of the biggest spending lobbyists are those of the pharmaceutical industry, the drug companies, or Big Pharma. They are the reason why we still have no cure for cancer, for arthritis, for heart disease, or for any other disease. Another of the big spending lobbyists are the tobacco companies. They are the reason why cigarettes are still being sold in the markets even after smoking has been proven to cause cancer.

How we Americans yearn for honest politicians! One lady wrote to the newspaper editor back in June about honest politicians in New York State. She said if there’s any state in the country that has honest politicians, she promises to move there. Then she said it’s no wonder taxpayers don’t vote. Well, I would be an honest politician. God knows I would be an honest politician. Why doesn’t God put me in the White House or Congress? Doesn’t God want honest politicians in the White House, in Congress, and in the Governor’s office? The answer is NO. It says in Daniel 4:17, where King Nebuchadnezzar dreamed another dream about his own ego and his pompous attitude, “…to the intent that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He wills, and sets up over it the BASEST of men.” Not the best, but the WORST.

The Armstrong church would frequently quote what Paul wrote in II Timothy 3:1-5 about the character of our people before the Second Coming. He said, “This know also that in the last days, perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. From such turn away.” This is something like the person God wants for our leader in Washington. There are many of those qualities I do not have particularly that of a traitor. I love my country. I would not betray my country. I am not ungrateful. I am not dishonest. In short, I am not the basest of men, therefore, according to the Bible, I am not qualified to hold office in this world.
